25 GIUGNO 2005 - SUBMISSION WRESTLING TOURNEMENT LA SPEZIA |
Good level and great fights for the last tournement of this year organized in La Spezia by Massimo Pensa: instead of direct eliminations bouts, we choose to use poules of 3 or 4 athlets, so each fighers had at least 2 or 3 matches. Five hours and 60 fights which had as referees Sifu Filippo Leone and Bernardo Serrini. Six weight categories and an Open Class divided in under and over 75 Kg.
Our fighters did really great even if they are class B, they fought hard and well against more experienced opponents and they closed in the best way this year. Under 70 Kg Ivan Marchetti was in the poule with two more dangerous and more experienced fighters and he did two intense fights: balanced the fight against Carlos Carrasco (Team Nascimento), Ivan worked well in standing fighting and controlled very well also on the ground but he lost 2-0 for a mistake defending a takedown. In the second match Ivan was more aggressive against a Sambo practitioners from Switzerland: his opponent took him down and controlled him for few seconds in kesa gatame, then Ivan took his opponent back and ended the fight with mata leao choke from rear back mount in less then one minute. From each poule just the first fighter reached the final bout: Carlos Carrasco was in the final with Andrea Cocco (BJJ Genova) and Alessio Di Liberti (Gladiatori Labronici Livorno), who won the weight class.
In the under 90 Kg there were four athlets in the only poule: our fighter Giuseppe Dell’Aira won and dominated all his opponents ( he won 11-0 against a fighter from Yoseikan Milano and against Sacco from Gladiatori Labronici Livorno, the third opponent was retired due to injury).
After all the weight categories finals, we had the two Open class to determinate the two fighters for the superfight. In the under 75 Kg Open Carlos Carrasco won ; Ivan Marchetti wasn't lucky and was out at the first bout loosing his match against Azzario Venanzio (Modern Bushi Bergamo) who took him down for the 2-0; after some reversals, Ivan was in his opponent half guard and at few seconds to the end he was able to pass the guard but not to pinn and controll his opponent to obtain points for winning. |
In the over 75 Kg Open Giuseppe dell’Aira was "the man" and won two great fights by points against two fighters from Team Nascimento: Meneghel (12-0) and Frontino (7-0); Giuseppe worked a good clinch game and was smart and precise controlling the ground game. The final superfight was between our fighter Giuseppe dell’Aira and Carlos Carrasco: in the first part of the fights they were very concetrated in their clinch game, till then Carrasco took down Dell'Aira ending in his guard; after few seconds, when Carrasco started to pass the guard, our fighter applyed a fast and strong americana shoulder lock to win the match and the money prize. A great victory for our young fighter: he started training with us just 2 years ago, and this years he won 4 tournements being one of the best Subbmission fighter in Italy: Sabbioneta, Modena, Civitanova Marche e La Spezia. |
Well done boyz...the adventure continues! |
| 18 JUNE 2005 - MARTIAL EXPO' IN CIVITANOVA MARCHE | |
As usual, Master D’Olimpio's hospitality was kind and genuine. The event was organized in a camping on a hill dominating the beautiful beach of Civitanova Marche, where all the partecipants to the tournements had a place reserved in a private beach: so sun, sea, healthy fish meals and Mixed Martial Arts! Not many people at the Submission Wrestling tournement (about twenty) but luckily stark and aggressive; the choice of adopting poules in each cathegory was good and provided 30 matches. Apart
from the Shootfighting match at night, our Tommaso
Pispico
decided to fight also in the - 85 Kg Submission cathegory: regrettably for
him, being submitted in both occasions by two more expert athlets (Boni of
Shoot Team and Petruzzella of Di Ceglie Team). Good performance of our Giuseppe Dell’Aira in the - 91 Kg, winning the tournement with two victories, one with triangle choke from the guard and the other by points with his usual precise style. Amazing
all the night matches: even if all fighters were at their very first
match, we had great Thai Boxe and Low Kick fights. Very intense the Shootfighting match between our fighter Tommaso Pispico and Mirko Paoletti of Beach Club Civitanova: the rules adopted were very simple, punches, kicks and knees in standing fight and just grappling with no strike on the ground. Pispico started well hitting very hard his opponent with 6 low kicks but after that he stopped his action and Paoletti, after some punches and good clinch control, took him down. In the second part of the first round the fight was all on the ground and won by Paoletti, who had a good defense against a heel hook ankle lock attack from Pispico and then controlled well the game. A draw for the second round: both fighter hit good and hard and grappled well and Paoletti was the winner of the match!

15 MAY 2005 - SUBMISSION WRESTLING TOURNEMENT MODENA |
Another good performance of the Real Fighting Team Leone who partecipated to the Submission Wrestling Tournement promoted in Modena by Shoot Team. Most of fights were hard and amazing, a beautiful day and a good atmosphere among technicians and atlhets with no discussions, correct and stark grapplers conducted by both referees Master Lanci and Master Leone. Due to previous injuries, only three of our athlets could take part to the event.
Second place to Ivan Marchetti who fought in the - 79 Kg class losing the final after 2 previous excellent matches against good skilled Jiu Jitsu practitioners. Ivan distinguished himself for the technique and for the ability to control the matches, we wish him a first place soon! In the same class Tommaso Pispico showed good progress even if he couldn't pass the semifinal. |
In the - 91 Kg class another great performance and first place to Giuseppe Dell'Aira, who controlled his opponent changing positions and making several points and then finalizing him with a mata leao from rear back mount. |
| Our compliments to all partecipants and to the coaches for the great work they're doing! | |

19th-20th MARCH 2005 - LA RESA DEI CONTI 8 |
Amazing Mixed Martial Arts week end in Lucca. Our team, still shortened by flu and injuries, was taken there by our great coach and Nema, and partecipated at the event organized by Master Patrizio Rizzoli. Many matches on satueday night, some of them not so enthusiastic but, of course the technical level and the athlets' passion were better than the referees preparation (too many mistakes and lack of self-confidence, especially during the Vale Tudo matches!!). In general, a satisfying event, with many interesting and high level Shoot Boxe and Vale Tudo matches. |
On sunday morning the amateurs tournement begins: absolutely not satisfying our athlets performances in Submission Wrestling; the only one who distinguished himself was Tommaso Pispico in the - 81 Kg cathegory. |
After our coach gave them a roasting, finally our athlets faced the Shoot Boxe Amateur Tournement in the right mood : many interesting and high level fights in all cathegories, "challenging", and not really so light... luckily! Good performance of Giuseppe Dell'Aira in the - 95 Kg cathegory, who dominated his opponent both standing and on the ground (... not regaining the poor show of the morning !). Hard and difficult Ivan Marchetti performance in the - 75 Kg cathegory with threee fights in 30 minutes (for the amateurs the regulations didn't return any verdict, but we can easily affirm that he won 2 victories over 1 defeat!). Not satisfying Tommaso, who appeared exhausted and put in the shade by an opponent definitely more aggressive and in a better shape ! |

6 MARCH 2005 - F.I.S.T. FREE FIGHT LIGHT ITALIAN CHAMPIONSHIP |

Reduced by flu and fever who confined in bed many Italians, the Real Fighting Team partecipated to the Light Contact Italian Championship organized by FIST in Milan. Our athlets were there to fight in the Free Fight Light tournement and from the beginning of their preparation, Master Leone expected to reach the more significant result. Satisfaction and good results for all our guys who distinguished for the good level of technique, respecting the coach's expectations: |
